Community Grants Committee

•Issues notices of grants Request for Proposals for East Falls nonprofit groups and individuals to submit grant applications that will enrich East Falls residents and the community.
•Reviews all grant applications and presents recommendations for funding to the membership at the regular March membership meeting.

East Falls Village Committee

•Facilitates "aging in place" within the community for older residents as an alternative to retirement communities or assisted living facilities.
•Determines the feasibility of creating an organization specifically to provide information and coordination of services to enable the community's older residents to continue to live independently in the community.

Events – Fall Festival

•Engages groups and individual to offer activities and programs that entertain, inform, and/or involve residents of all ages, usually during October.
Educational Land Use

•Works with residents and three educational institutions (Philadelphia University, Penn Charter School, and Drexel University) to design a land use plan that reflects a collaborative effort.
Friends of Mifflin School

The mission of the Friends of the Mifflin School is to foster broad, community-based support to equip Mifflin students and staff with the necessary resources to provide a quality public education.
Objectives
•To engage residents and stakeholders from the entire Mifflin catchment area in an effort to improve education at the school.
•To raise the necessary funds and resources for Mifflin staff to meet the achievement goals set by the School District of Philadelphia.
•To establish a robust volunteer network to assist in student tutoring and administrative support.
•To engage the School District of Philadelphia, the School Reform Commission, and other policy influencers to maintain support for public education in the Mifflin catchment area.
Nominating Committee

•Appointed annually no later than the regular January membership meeting.
•Meet one or more times prior to the March meeting to prepare a slate of nominees for the offices of the EFCC.
•Present that slate to the membership at the regular March membership meeting.
•The Nominating Committee shall not nominate one of its own members to be an officer.
Playground Committee

•Spearhead the development and construction of a community supported play area at Inn Yard Park in East Falls.
•Plans, organizes, raise funds to construct a safe, attractive and accessible community-built and community-supported playground for the enjoyment of children ages 3-12 in the East Falls neighborhood.
Special Events Committee

•Determines, plans, and implements activities and programs that bring residents together to meet neighbors with a special emphasis to invite new resident to participate.
•Coordinates event budgets during planning with EFCC Executive Committee.
•Reports all activities to general membership.
Zoning & Land Use Committee
Chairperson: Barnaby Wittels

•This standing committee is chaired by the EFCC 1st VP and shall be comprised of at least four members, in addition to the chair, who shall be members in good standing of the EFCC. Members are selected by the chair and approved by the Executive Committee.
•Monitors and researches proposed and actual changes in zoning and/or property use; considers said changes; and seeks the opinion of neighbors who may be affected by said changes.
•Takes positions as to variances and/or special exception sought by property owners and/or occupants, mindful of community sentiment and the applicable laws and ordinances of the Commonwealth and the City of Philadelphia and applicable policies adopted by the EFCC.
•May act for the EFCC between membership meetings and shall report its activities to the membership at each regular membership meeting.

It is highly recommended that one efcc officer serve on a given committee with the exception of the nominating committee. No current officer shall serve on the nominating committee.
